Despite every effort to make them efficient, heating and cooling systems can only be truly efficient if they are able to effect an even temperature distribution in the whole room or house. However, this is quite tricky, as homes often lack the infrastructure to distribute hot or cold air evenly.
The Register Vent Booster Fan aims to ‘pull’ out heated or cooled air from air vents and push the air into the room. This therefore boosts the efficiency and energy saving potential of any heating or cooling system. The booster fan fits over existing ventilation grills in the home, and is activated by a temperature-sensitive sensor. (more…)

If you have an iPhone or iPod Touch, you know that surfing the web over WiFi or 3G will drain the battery fairly quickly, compared to listening to music or playing the odd game. However, this creative leather charger case from Brando allows you to charge up your iPhone or iPod Touch when you’re on the move. Hopefully extending the life of your battery before you need to charge it again at home. (more…)

It’s all fair and well to pick up the poop when your dog decides to relieve themselves in the park, however, have you given much thought to how you can dispose of the waste? Most people use a normal plastic bag to pick up the mess, and then throw it out in the trash. That’s all well and good, but since trash is so tightly packed in landfill sites, waste cannot break down or biodegrade. Potentially, that waste could be sitting around on a landfill site for hundreds of years!
The Doggy Poop bags are designed to be flushable down your toilet, and then biodegrade naturally when the waste water from your home is processed. (more…)

It’s refreshing to find a hand-powered green gadget that’s actually useful, particularly with the Piranha Dynamo and Rechargeable Shaver. With just 1 minute of cranking, you get 80 seconds of shaving time. If you charge up the shaver via the mains, it would take 8 hours and give you around 60 minutes of shaving.
However, if you’re in the middle of nowhere, a hand-powered shaver is a pretty useful eco gadget. If the shaver had some kind of generic charging socket, you could use a solar panel too. However, standardised charging sockets are a long way off, but it’s a simple idea that might sell a whole lot more gadgets.
