Oak Effect Solar Post

I’ve found that with most solar-powered lights for the garden, that they have a very artificial look about them. Most often, the solar lights you get are in a black or silver finish, which can look very out of place in a garden. Magnoloo Toilet Descaler

For those of us who live in hard water areas, limescale can be really frustrating and expensive. Limescale leaves unpleasant white marks on surfaces, often providing a home for bacteria and stains to dwell. Usually, we use acid-based chemicals to break down the limecale, which is not too great for the environment. As an alternative, the Magnaloo Toilet Limescale Descaler uses very strong magnets to prevent calcium carbonate from forming the hard limescale deposits. (more…)

Solar Powered Bamboo Doll House

Most of the eco toys that I’ve reviewed probably have more appeal to the boys than the girls, simply because boys prefer gadgets a bit more than girls do. However, here’s a toy aimed a little more towards girls, namely a Solar-Powered Bamboo Doll House. The doll house is made from sustainable fast-growing bamboo, which has been treated with a light water-based stain and then polished with natural beeswax. (more…)

Energy Generating Speed Bumps

Motioned Powered Speed Bump

The Motioned Powered Speed Bump is a novel method of generating energy from the weight and movement of cars over them. The speed bumps look more like a flat metal plate than a traditional concrete speed bump. The metal bumps have long think pedals running across the top which are pressed down as a car moves over the speed bump. The movement of these pedals turns gears inside the bump which generates around 2,000W of electricity per car! (more…)
