European supermarkets have taken effective steps for lowering down the carbon emission and eco-friendly refrigeration. UK market is the world largest retail market and also directly effecting the environment through hazardous chemicals for cooling and heating systems. A cost-effective approach to lower down the carbon footprints, recycling and use of eco-friendly technology can be right solution, suggested by top European business planners. Sainsbury was the first supermarket in Europe which stopped use of super global warming chemicals.
Current refrigeration system is not friendly to the environment and a greater percentage of carbon dioxide in atmosphere. Justin King, the chief Executive of Sainsbury Supermarket have told that their decision to ban chemicals through cooling system is based on group efforts with green campaigners and suggestions from lobbies to ban the use of F-gas chemicals, Hydro fluorocarbons till 2015. In modern cooling and refrigeration systems, the F-gases are used, which have been found greater time dangerous then use of carbon dioxide. In United Kingdom, one billion trips to shops are being leaked from supermarkets every year.
The refrigeration industry has been looking for cost effective and eco-friendly technology since from 1990s and gases which are harmful for ozone layer had been replaced with F-gases in early 2000. But now F-gases have been effecting the environment with same velocities and brought a worst-case scenario. European supermarkets will soon report their financial year performance, and Sainsbury’s officials have told that this year profit is £300m, with more than 18 percent growth of last year figures. Now it is clear that UK supermarkets will invest more in environmental friendly and green cooling systems and saving their each penny to contribute for the environmental beauty.
European supermarkets have predicted that one third of the chemicals emission will be stopped with use of greener refrigeration technology. Currently in an interview, Mr. King told that British workforce is ill-equipped to work for cutting down the high toxic emissions and plans of government and supermarkets have to bring engineers from broad to overcome with refrigeration and use of carbon dioxide. Effective strategies will be applied and estimations have been high.
Mr. Doug Parr, the chief scientist of Greenpeace UK has suggested the governments to ought learning of f-gases removal and use alternative environmental friendly cooling mechanisms. The carbon copied supermarkets have claimed in last years that they have performed their key role to make them the greenest stores on the earth. Asda claiming that it has cut down the pollution by 35pc while Sainsbury’s telling about 40 pc cut down role performed by them. Tesco is working to make its own wind farm and become zero-carbon Corporation by 2050.
Similar efforts have been taken by Morrison’s, M&S, Asda and other famous supermarkets in United Kingdom. Current energy needs will attention all the supermarkets to bring their actions registered under the green associations’ acts. Mr. King said that government of UK should seize the opportunities there by training and utilizing the people to work in green environment and bring back the positive results.

Our world has been widely affected by carbon dioxide and other hazardous pollutants, which have been mixed up in environment and atmosphere above. The recall for green technology means carbon footprints and level of pollution in our atmosphere has been reached to the extent where survival for living beings is quite different. Either we take the example of Ozone layer or mixing of toxic materials in ocean water through industries, the human created pollution has affected the whole planet. Today there is a need to build eco-friendly houses and time to differentiate between eco-friendly housing vs. ordinary housing.
The questions relating to cost and sustainability of eco-friendly housing would be answered through our today’s topic of H-Haus- a hybrid sustainable and eco-friendly housing package. The H-Haus believes in its line of Eco-housing which has been environmentally engineered and each house built has unique and beautiful design as well as high performance and long lasting. Though earth rammed housing may be overlooked as new technology in US market, such technology has been working practical in European region from last several decades. In United States, the cooling solutions and radiant heating are to bring comfortable space, that’s our imagination.
A powerful revolution has been brought to HVAC industry for heating and cooling through this technology, and facts are ready to be uncovered and introduced about this powerful revolution. This eco-friendly housing is greatly energy efficient and has tremendous positive effects on environment and efforts to stop carbon emissions from housing. All the housing products which are utilized in this model are high performance shells with great energy performance and it would bring ultimate flexibility for home owners.
Such eco homes would are easy to transfer from one point of construction to any region of the world through flat technology by eco-friendly housing companies. Now there is no need of huge equipment for construction, large cranes and trucks, site and area limitations and any expensive transportation fees for establishment and transferring of earth rammed homes. Individuals have been looking for energy efficient, low carbon emission and contemporary high end housing with limitations of time and budget and all these things have been now solved with earth rammed housing. The approach has been spreading similar in Asia and Africa as far as in United States and Europe.
Personalized housing includes high cost and carbon emission limitations, and this has been evident that now home owners are conscious about environment protection and external disasters. In one way, best customer services and expertise of eco-friendly housing would be an available solution for personalized housing. The awareness about green housing from housing companies is also a vital part to convert the present home owners to green housing schemes.
While eco-friendly homes construction has been brought forward, climatic changes have been put in the final solution mixture for unequaled performance and quality construction. Earth rammed housing is handles with all aspects of modern complex management tools in their design, construction, installation and maintenance. For construction of ECO1, ECO2 and ECO3 homes and all other components, the construction companies are working with their affiliates to bring compatible eco-friendly construction. There are several positive ways for reduction of energy and making our homes complete green within limited budget. It is suggested that online suggestions about clean solutions will bring clean future for human beings.
Currently there are many online sites where energy assessment calculators are available and individuals are suggested to assess their current energy requirements and compare it with your new housing scheme. You can also compare the energy needs and positive effects of new earth homes with graphs and charts through this online comparison. For example, if you have learned about skylights, they are free and most efficient source of illumination in homes. These skylights are powerful as compared to ordinary power bulbs and lights will flow across your rooms with solar lights which have brightened the home at day time.
Rammed earth housing will work with solar panels and all the domestic supply of power would be fulfilled with large solar panels around the homes. This energy will be enough to complete all tasks like heating water, charging of gadgets etc. Solar energy is a clean and pure form of renewable energy source available through revolution of modern technology. Solar energy will cost only in startup for installation of solar water tanks to heat the water and make them available for energy generation as per domestic requirements. Motion sensor bulbs applied for indoor and outdoor use will keep the home lightening without worrying about turning them on or off.
These sensor lights will be used to illuminate the pathways and walkways which require power at evening and night time for short time. When sudden disconnection of light bringing problems for charging of our daily use gadgets and domestic power requirements, these lights are good to illuminate when darkness and turn off when it enough light outside. Selection of low water flow toilet mechanisms is also an innovative step in new eco-friendly homes because their performance will save much water through regular toilet and kitchen water use. If you are using motion lights, set the time for their turning off or on and even if you forget, they will adjust the energy requirements through its powerful sensors and much savvy.
No matter how we turn eco-friendly, the self-sufficient is vital for a green world without pollution and hazardous wastes. There are many cautions essential today to save more and protect our environment once eco-friendly environment requirements have been read by everyone. Hazardous materials which are put in kitchen sink should not be poured into the pipe lines or thrown away, because these ingredients will contribute directly to the environmental pollution.
It is important to use biodegradable or non-toxic substitutes. Read the signal words which are published with words like cautions, warming, danger or poison. These products ingredients are highly concerned with toxic material inside them, while caution is used for the products which are less toxic in nature. New earth homes are an effective solution for our environmental protection and lowering down the carbon footprints of housing.

The Germany has become the world superpower after its new solar power generation record by meeting half of the country weekend power demand through its renewable energy sources. The Germans solar plants have fed a whopping 22 Giga watts of solar power in one hour duration into its national grid. Nuclear energy tremendous increase from Japan and Russia had been predicted as power edge from these two countries, but after Fukushima disaster, the Japan had opted to shut down all of its nuclear power plants and Germany had great public pressure to stop use of nuclear energy as great damaging to living beings.
These circumstances paved the way for more investment and future planning for solar energy generation. Nuclear energy had been found as un-friendly after many radiations damaging in five top nuclear power generation companies and that technology had also been using a low quantity ore of uranium for fission process. The Renewable Energy Industry (IWR) in Muenster announced that Saturday’s solar energy generation met nearly 50 percent of the nation’s midday electricity needs and was equal to 20 nuclear power stations working at their full capacity.
Germany is world leader in solar energy and has been remembered as solar roofs country, but after Government announcement to close down the 8 power plants because of Fukushima disaster and remaining nine till 2022, a great chaos was seen from public and Government officials in the start. A great pressure was mounted to find and invest in alternative renewable energy sources. Other power generation sources like biomass and wind are also expected to pick up the slack, but solar power had never been as important as much today.
After closing a one working day demand for powering the factories and offices on Saturday and half on the Friday, the country met all the power demand and broken its previous record of solar power industry. The director of IWR, Norbert Allnoch told the Reuters no country had ever produced as much photovoltaic energy as much Germans did today. In recent weeks, Germany had come closer to 20 GW mark and this was the first time they made it over.
“Now it has become clear that Germany is capable of meeting its all electricity demand renewable solar power industry, told the Director of IWR”. It is also found that now Germany can do with fewer nuclear power sources, gas burning plants and coal burning power generation sources if they want to maintain them too. Through Government support and effective planning for renewable energy generation, today Germans power industry has become the world leader in solar energy production.
Like most other European countries, Germany is aiming to cut its greenhouse gas emissions by 40% from 1990 levels by 2020, but at this rate it is the country most likely to actually follow through. The record-breaking amount of solar power shows one of the world’s leading industrial nations was able to meet a third of its electricity needs on a work day, Friday, and nearly half on Saturday when factories and offices were closed.

World over, people are becoming more environment conscious, and there is an increased focus on protecting the environment, reducing pollution, and using eco-friendly materials. One such term we often get to hear is about the carbon footprint. Carbon footprint is the measure of pollution (In terms of emitted greenhouse gases) which a product, or a manufacturing cycle, or even our day to day activities create. You can get a measure of your own carbon footprint for your household, your daily office trip or even the weekend party you just had last week. All of these activities require energy, be it electrical power or gasoline in your car tank. When we burn fuels to create energy, greenhouse gases such as carbon dioxide, methane are released into the atmosphere. These gases pollute the environment, and also disturb the ecological cycle. So, all our daily activities certainly impact the environment causing immediate repercussions such as pollution of air and water resources, and also broad range of ecological calamities such as global warning, ozone layer depletion and many more.
Hence, in order to measure and standardize the amount of greenhouse emission an activity or a person does, a standard way of measurement has been created called as a carbon footprint. In very simple terms, it’s the measure of CO2 or its equivalent which is emitted in an activity. Once we know the carbon footprint of an activity or a product manufacturing cycle, we can take steps to reduce the footprint levels either by reducing its frequency, or moving towards an alternate source which gives a lesser footprint.
Often an estimation of the carbon footprint for a product can be reached by looking into its primary constituents. For example, a plastic box made of PET would have a definite carbon footprint in terms of its manufacturing cycle. Every time you use an automobile, you directly cause a greenhouse emission by burning fuel, and also the automobile itself had gone through a manufacturing cycle requiring energy to be consumed. Also, the fuel in your car did require energy to be drilled from earth, refined and transported to your local gas station. All of the above are associated with a specific carbon footprint which gives a measure of how much it’s going to impact the environment.
Common greenhouse gases are methane, carbon dioxide, nitrous oxide, sulpur fluoride etc. Often, carbon dioxide is taken as a benchmark for calculating the carbon footprint, and other gas emissions are expressed in equivalents of a CO2 emission.
You can use the below websites to check the carbon footprint for your household, or for any activity or product.
A small change in our daily activities can make a difference to the carbon footprint we leave behind. Using alternate energy sources, opting for eco-friendly products, using community transport are some examples we can incorporate into our lifestyle to do our part for nature.

World over, people are becoming more environment conscious, and there is a greater awareness on conserving the environment, and reducing pollution. Small changes that we can incorporate in our daily life can make a great impact on the environment. It’s not about how much we have conserved, or how less have we polluted, but it’s all about the conscious effort we need to make in all our actions. Little actions can make us do our bit to the save nature, and a chain of such actions can lead to multiplied results, a greener environment, and most importantly-increase awareness.
Even since the advent of computers, the old fashioned files and folders have made way to databases and emails. We are now more used to communicate through emails then by letters, we see more of news online then by reading a paper. We see more advertisements in our email folders then in handbills. A digital signature validates our online credentials just as a signature on a paper would do. We extensively use internet banking, reducing our visits to the bank. All of them are proof of the way we are slowly replacing paper as our chosen means of communication.
Lesser paper usage means lesser cutting of trees, lesser paper making plants which means less energy consumption, and lesser pollution. Also lesser cost of transportation saves fuel too. Indirectly, such initiatives by us help conserve the environment by protecting trees, help decrease energy consumption either by usage of machinery or transport and when that is done, we pollute the environment in a lesser way. So for all of you readers reading this post online-you too are doing a part in saving the environment.
It’s not an exaggeration to say that we have almost given up on writing letters and communicating by paper, except in situations where they are mandatory. However, this only means that we are conserving our green resources, but are also using other energy sources instead which still need a fuel to run on. We cannot also compare the usage of energy sources against conservation of nature, as they are two different entities. But the energy used in writing an email or doing a money transfer online is much lesser when compared to driving to an office and doing a paper transaction. Hence, we must in all our daily routines, whether personal or business, decrease paper consumption wherever possible, and do our part to save nature.
So… for all you email and internet aficionados—you might have saved many tress till date. However, the global demand for paper, after removing the recycled components is a staggering 400 million tons- which means about 4 billion trees being felled. The best we can do is to further reduce our paper consumption, move towards using the digital media for advertizing and communication, and lastly-plant as many trees as possible, so we have the correct ecological balance.

All of us are familiar with bamboo- the tall shoots that decorate parks and gardens. Bamboo is actually a type of reed or grass and is known to grow fast, requires very less water and often grows in bunches. Bamboo is widely used in handicrafts, agricultural implements, housing needs and in the manufacture of paper. Bamboo can also be used to generate a fiber which can be used for clothing needs.
Momo bamboo is a very coon variety of bamboo which is native to China, and is most suitable for obtaining fiber for clothing needs. The process involves using the bamboo leaves and the tender insides of the shoot to produce cellulose, which is then converted into fiber.
Bamboo sustains harsh weather conditions, and can also grow with litter irrigation. It’s a type of grass and would grow again if cut. In fact, some reaches indicate that the yield is much better in case of regular harvesting by cutting the top portion of the shoot. Bamboo also grows very fast, and in some cases has a yield in 8-10 weeks. Natural bamboo doesn’t require any fertilizers or manure. Many varieties of bamboo contain a natural antimicrobial agent which itself insulates the plant against common infections. All the above properties of bamboo have made it a very economically viable cash crop, and its being extensively cultivated even in regions with less rainfall. This makes it one good crop alternative in semi-arid areas, where water supply is scarce. Cultivation of bamboo not only gives an alternate fiber for our uses, but also provides a source of livelihood for farmers. It requires little care and maintenance and gives a yield many times more than cotton.
Let us look at the advantages of bamboo fibers:
1) It has natural antibacterial properties which also make the plant resistant to common infections
2) Its natural and biodegradable.
3) Using bamboo fiber provides a living to bamboo cultivators, who often are from poor and arid regions, and cannot cultivate other cash crops.
4) Bamboo fiber has a lot of tiny free spaces which allow the fabric to absorb moisture easily and also support ventilation. This makes clothing from bamboo fibers very cool, and non-sticky. On a broader viewpoint this makes them less allergenic, and more suited for the sensitive skin types.
5) Its strong and at the same time can be easily spun. Often bamboo fiber is used as a whole, or is used in combination with other fibers such as cotton, hemp silk etc to give a blended fiber.
Most of bamboo fiber is cultivated and processed in China, with a Chinese firm Hebei Jigao Chemical Fiber Company holding a patent for a widely used form of bamboo fiber processing.
This fiber is now being used for many clothing needs, and is slowly forming an alternative to other plant and synthetic fibers. Litrax AG, Switzerland has developed an environmentally safe technology while processing the bamboo into fiber and retaining all its inherent qualities. This technology is one of the path breaking innovations in use of natural fibers by making their synthesis totally environmentally safe, and without the use of harmful chemical widely used in fabric manufacturing.

Room fresheners are fast becoming a vital necessity in any household or office as unwanted odors stale air cigarette smoke are very disagreeable to your visitors. Normal aerosol based room fresheners only add a fragrance to the air which just masks the bad odors with its pleasant fragrance. These chemical aerosols at times contain fragrances derived from toxic chemicals which not only are harmful for your health but also cause damage to the environment. Here we present a safer alternative to freshen up your room by using activated Bamboo charcoal which absorbs the stale odor from your room leaving it fresh and clean.
Bamboo charcoal is a specially processed form of charcoal which has been derived from normal bamboo shoots. It has a high surface area that allows more air to get in contact with the charcoal mass which in turn absorbs all the foul odors. Charcoal has been known for absorbing bad odors with its unique chemical structure. It absorbs harmful chemicals, stale odors, leaking electromagnetic radiations from appliances, and balances the humidity in the air. The attractive pack of the bamboo charcoal would just look like your decorative bamboo shoots albeit in a black color. It’s a perfect way to clean your indoors, office spaces, basements, closets, drawers, bathrooms etc in a pure and natural way.
Bamboo charcoal is created by a special heating process which eliminates all the non carbon materials from the bamboo shoots and creates a unique chemical form of carbon called C 60. The charcoal is then activated by a special process to increase its absorption powers by means of granulations and steam injection. It then has millions of tiny spores that instantly attract any foul dour, unwanted particles in air etc and clean your room from any air based impurities
The product comes in a specialized handy container, or as attractive shoots of bamboo which can be placed anywhere. They also have a unique shoe insert which can be inserted inside your show and absorbs all foul odor, sweat etc while you are on the move. This prevents the nasty shoe odor and protects you from various sweat related infections.
