Use of wood for Home Décor artwork

Being renewable and relatively inexpensive, this has been used in furniture and home constructions from last thousand years. This has been majorly used in artwork and home décor. Unfortunately, excessive logging and deforestation have led to this once abundant resource scarcely available in the world. This turned to high cost of wood to use for functional material other than just use for usual artwork.
However, there are adverse effects of cutting down large amount of forests and leaving no greenery as alternative to it. Wood used for art work should be equalized with new trees planted. Reclaimed wood is used in abundance nowadays for home décor due to high rising costs and scarce availability. Hugo Franca was first working as employee as computer engineer, but learned wooden artwork for fifteen years as his new profession. This resulted in stunning furniture pieces made using leftover or burnt wood. He goes to Bahia every 45 days in search of reclaimed wood from forests of Bahia. His works have been exhibited at fairs and adorn the homes of collectors and magnates alike. Franca’s unique furniture pieces are showing that how supposed waste can be transformed artistic and functional pieces for display and home décor.
