The ‘Laser’ product is a gadget designed for urban cyclists. Since cyclists are very exposed on the road due to the volume of traffic these days, the Laser gadget is designed to create a light-based safety zone around the cyclists to encourage good behaviour from drivers. A Bose press release has detailed the design of a new energy-efficient Bose sound system, designed specifically for eco-friendly cars. The new Bose system is 30% smaller, 40% lighter, and uses 50% less energy compared to conventional Bose sound systems, without sacrificing quality. (more…)

The SwissBike LX is a full-size mountain bike with full size 26″ standard wheels. When folded, it measures just 36″ x 28″ x 12″, and can be unfolded into a full bike in less than 30 seconds without tools. The Nextar NXBT-001 and NXBT-002 denote the model names of a pair of BlueTooth handsfree kits for the car. The eco bit is that they are both solar powered rather than using the charging port of the car. The Nextar NXBT-001 offers 250 hours of standby time and 10 hours of talk time, whereas the Nextar NXBT-002 offers 150 hours of standby time and 6 hours of talk time. An engineer (read: big kid) has built an impressive go-kart that uses 6 Optima D34 (12V 55AH) batteries that allows the kart to reach speeds of up to 60 mph (100 kph). The kart is supposedly the fastest electric go-kart in the world, and therefore is a record-breaker. The batteries drive a S-33 motor and an Alltrax AXE-7234 controller, although the battery life is not mentioned. (more…)
