Indesit have announced 2 new washing machines to join their Hotpoint lines, the Indesit Aquarius and Indesit Ultima. In addition to the common features such as water and energy efficient usage, these washing machines are actually constructed from recycled materials.

Sometimes an eco-friendly gadget doesn’t need to do anything more than just look good. I’ve seen these recycled printed circuit board drinks coasters before, but I think they’re really smart. PCBs are really difficult to recycle, as they contain many many chemicals, most of them toxic.

The Morphy Richards Ecolectric Toaster for example is an intelligently designed electric toaster that uses 30% less energy compared to ordinary toasters. By using an automatically closing lid, the toaster retains considerably more heat, resulting in faster cooking times and less energy being needed.

Nobody likes having creepy crawlies in their home. There’s nothing nice about sharing your home with wasps, rats, roaches or any other pest.
