The Eat House is a fun concept for a building made from growing plants. The modular frame houses many vegetable crates, re-purposed into small beds for plant growing, allowing plants to cover the whole of the outside of the building.

The Eat House has been designed by Marijke Bruinsma from the dutch firm De Stuurlui Stedenbouw and Marjan van Capelle and Arjen de Groot from Atelier GRAS!. The concept takes advantage of modern intensive farming techniques to provide a fruit and vegetable garden that moves beyond the garden and over the whole house. Being so close to all the fresh foods will certainly tempt anyone to pick their own and enjoy, helping to encourage home growing for fresh produce.

The Eat House is created from vegetable crates, the crates used to transport vegetables from place to place. Each crate is converted into a small bed for growing plants such as fruits, vegetables or herbs in, while providing some structural framework for the house. This concept may not be exactly practical for house construction in the future, but does help to demonstrate just how much space we could each be using for growing plants, even those we can eat. The re-use of vegetable crates helps to highlight the amount of miles a lot of produce has to travel to finally reach our homes.

These VapaLight Scented Bulbs are a great way to fill your home with fragrance, or to help neutralize bad odors without the need for sprays. The 11w energy efficient bulbs have an inserted scent stick that provides you with scent for up to 50 hours, these can be easily replaced and are available in a wide range of fragrances.

Each stick will provide around 50 hours of fragrance and is supplied in packs of two. The VapaLights are available in Citrus Fruits, Lavender and Camomile, Vanilla and musk or Air Neutraliser. The light bulbs fit into any standard light socket and each scent rod is supplied sealed for freshness, each VapaLight is able to take any of the different fragrance rods, allowing you to change scents as and when you require.

The VapaLight Scented Bulbs and refills are a great way to either neutralise odors or to provide fragrance in your home. They are easy to install in any room by simply changing the lightbulb for a VapaLight bulb and require no extra power than the 11w bulb itself takes to provide lighting. The bulbs allow anyone to fill their room with fragrance in a discrete and eco-friendly manner.

At the Copenhagen Conference on Climate Change the researchers at MIT (Massachusetts Institute of Technology) unveiled the Copenhagen Wheel. The wheel basically stores up energy as you ride it, to then release the energy back as a boost when you need it most. The wheel can also communicate with your iPhone offering a myriad of features.

The mechanics of the Copenhagen Wheel are all housed under the bright red plastic centre. Inside, the main feature to the wheel is a device that stores the kinetic energy given off by the rider applying the breaks. This energy is taken in by an electric motor which then stores it into batteries. The batteries then release this energy to power the motor when the wheel senses you are struggling. This means that when you put more effort into riding, like riding uphill for instance, the bike gives you an extra boost from the power you have stored from breaking. It is thought this will help people be able to travel further by bike and make the whole ride smoother.

Also within the red housing at the centre of the wheel are sensors and a bluetooth connection. You can use an iPhone app to access data being taken by these sensors, such as speed, distance traveled, what the air pollution is in the area, or the traffic conditions ahead. The iPhone can be mounted on a holder on a bikes handlebars to allow you to view this information easily.

Other than a holder for your iPhone, all you need to upgrade your bike is the Copenhagen Wheel itself which the designers hope to have on sale next year.
