Black & Decker Thermal Leak (Draught) Detector

Thermal Leak Detector

The Black & Decker Thermal Leak and Draught Detector is a step into the eco-friendly gadget world by Black & Decker. Black & Decker are traditionally a power tools manufacturer, e.g. drills, screwdrivers, power-saws, etc. The Thermal Leak and Draught Detector uses a colour-coded light to indicate if it detects a difference in the surface temperature compared to the user-configured reference temperature.

When the surface temperature changes by a user-adjustable margin of 1, 5 or 10 degrees Fahrenheit (why not Celsius?), the light will change to a red or blue colour to indicate a hot or cold spot. The detector, priced at around $40, is designed to help you locate draughty areas where there is poor insulation or a possible crack in your walls to the outside world.

By identifying all of the cold spots on your walls, you should save money on your heating bills by patching those spots up.
