Hydra – Water-Efficient Easy Garden Watering System

By Dan (EnviroGadget Writer) on December 26th, 2008

Hydra in Situ

The Hydra watering system is an easy to install and aesthetically pleasing garden irrigation gadget. The Hydra was designed as a solution to avoid home owners needing to dig up their garden to install a watering system. The Hydra uses a range of sensors to determine when to water the garden, saving up to 25% compared to existing watering systems.

The Hydra system is wireless, and simply needs a water supply to be connected to the main unit. The system uses just a single rechargable 9V battery to determine when to water the garden. Feed pipes are able to water plants at up to 1 litre per hour and are designed to be located where plants need the moisture most.

From the photo it looks like it’s a lily or some exotic flower. I wonder if it looks like that in reality?

I think this would be great hooked up to rainwater tank which usually has low pressure.

This is just a concept, but the designer profile is no longer available. Sorry, I can’t help any further.
