Morphy Richards Ecolectric Vacuum Cleaner

So you’re probably wondering why I consider a vacuum cleaner to be an eco gadget, well the Morphy Richards Ecolectric Vacuum Cleaner some great eco-friendly aspects, so I think it’s worthy of a mention. The vacuum cleaner most notably uses a 1000W motor rather than a conventional 2000W motor used in other upright cleaners. This means there’s a 50% saving in energy usage! The cleaner is also made from recycled materials and is 100% recyclable at the end of it’s life.

The Ecolectric PerformAir 1000w Bagless Upright (it’s proper name) has no need for bags, as it uses a 4.2 litre capacity chamber to collect dust and dirt. The large capacity means you won’t be running to your dustbin to empty it every five minutes. The cleaner only weighs just over 6kg, which means it’s light enough to carry, particularly for cleaning the stairs. The vacuum cleaner comes with a range of the usual accessories, and also features a HEPA filter and specially designed brushes to pick up pet hair.

The vacuum cleaner is priced just under £100, which is roughly the same price as other upright vacuum cleaners. This means you start saving money from the moment you start using it!

I don’t want to be an ass because I like that web site very much, but I should point that because it uses 50% less energy doesn’t actually make it efficient. The cleaner could have easily used only 100w, but then instead of being efficient it will clean nothing. Well you get the point, but I couldn’t resist pointing that out.Keep up the good work you’ve done so far.

I agree, but it does it make it more efficient, which is still a good thing!
