I recently received a 2C Solar Cap to review, and I must say that I was very impressed with it. You’d expect it to be a silly gadget without any real purpose… but actually, it works perfectly for map reading at night. If you’re out hiking or camping, you usually need both hands free to do something, such as pitching a tent, cooking, or map reading. The 2C Solar Cap perfectly angles the bright white LED lights in front of you, making the cap very practical. (more…)

It’s probably just a little too cold in the UK to be considering going camping, but if you’re planning your spring camping holiday, then the PVC-Free Eco-Friendly Solar Camping Shower might just interest you. As far as eco gadgets go, the solar shower is really simple. Essentially the black colouring of the bag absorbs solar energy which heats up water inside the bag. The “Shit Box” is a wonderful trademark name, despite not being a product you’d chat about with your parents or other prudish family members. You’d need to be a fairly liberal individual to want to use the Shit Box, which is an eco-friendly portable toilet. All components are biodegradable, yet the toilet box itself is re-usable. Inside the toilet are special bags that will happily breakdown if left to compost. (more…)
