The Leaf LED Light is a stylish modern desk lamp that uses LEDs to produce a bright white light while using very little energy. The lamp is fully adjustable allowing you to be able to use it for a variety of tasks.

The Leaf LED Light by Herman Miller has been created to provide stylish modern lighting that is environmentally friendly. The light uses 20 LEDs to produce its illumination, it has 10 blue LEDs that provide a cool intensive light, and 10 yellow LEDs that help to give the light a warm feeling. The Leaf LED Light can be adjusted to light any angle you wish, the lower blade swivels 180 degrees and pivots 27.5 degrees forward, 23 degrees backward, while the upper blade pivots 210 degrees. The lamp is thought to use only 40% of the electricity a standard lamp bulb would as it draws only 12 watts and the LEDs will last around 100x longer than a standard bulb. The lamp furthers its eco credentials with its composition, it is crafted from 37% recycled materials and 95% of the lamp can be recycled when it has reached the end of its useful life.

The Leaf LED Light is available in 5 colours: black, polished aluminium, red, nickel, and white and each lamp measures 53.5 cm x 22 cm (21 in x 8.7 in). The lamp is an aesthetically pleasing object to have, be it in the home or at work. The lamps ability to adjust allows you many lighting options, and helps to ensure it will always provide the right lighting for the job. Flo is a desk light concept using the form and function of sink taps as an integral influence on its design. By operating the taps a user can control the light level, giving a range of lighting from a soft warm light to a cool bright light.

The Flo lighting concept has been designed by Michael Angelini to help users be more aware of the electricity they are using. The taps used to control lighting level have also been used to help a user be subtly reminded that electricity, like water, is something we should all be actively working to conserve. The desk lamp allows you to operate the lighting level from the tap switches, the light can be used for different lighting levels depending on what the user requires. It would seem that using a warmer, lower light level would use less electricity than using the cool, brighter light levels. This would allow you to have a desk lamp that is suitable for all occasions and, by selecting lower light levels when acceptable, can help reduce your energy usage.

The Flo desk light would be constructed in the majority from recycled materials, helping the light to be as eco-friendly as possible. By using LEDs (Light Emitting Diode) as the light source, the desk light will use less electricity than one operating an incandescent bulb, while having many benefits over low energy light bulbs like CFLs (Compact Florescent Light/lamp). The LEDs will last longer than both incandescent and CFL bulbs and LEDs, unlike CFL bulbs, contain no mercury.

The Flo desk light concept would offer effective low energy lighting that can provide a range of lighting levels to ensure its suitability for any situation. The light would allow you to be more conscious of your electricity usage and provide you with means to reduce your use when possible.

The SolarMature (odd name!) is a solar-powered desktop or bedside lamp that uses solar panels on the lampshade. The lamp is completely standalone, and doesn’t need to be near a power point. It can be used in the garden or in the home, however, you need to make sure it gets plenty of sun light if used indoors.

The lamp uses internal rechargeable batteries, which are charged via the solar panels. The light comes from bright LEDs. The lamp looks great, but I doubt that the amount of light output is practical though. Ah, and the design uses loads of plastic too!
