Lyman Morse PowerCube Setup

The boat builder specialists have used their marine expertise to develop the PowerCube. Working with a company called Reluminati, PowerCube has been designed as a solution for off-grid energy supply. Whilst the sun is shining, the PowerCube can supply 600 watts of power. As you can see from the photo above, the PowerCube is a beast, but is perfectly suited to military, marine, island camps, construction sites, cell phone towers, and emergency situations.

Solar-Powered Neck-Tie

Researchers at the Iowa State University have invented a green gadget, a solar-powered necktie, in the process of inventing fabric that integrates photovoltaic thin film cells both physically and aesthetically into wearable clothing. In terms of aesthetics, it’s a hard job, as solar cells are usually a distinct blue-ish colour and grid-pattern.

Buffalo Solar Powered Wireless Keyboard

Buffalo Japan will soon be launching their solar-powered keyboard, the BSKBW01SB. Given that wireless keyboards can eat quite a few batteries in their lifetime, it saves on batteries going to landfill as well as some small energy costs. The solar panel is in the top right of the keyboard, and can be adjusted to any angle to get the optimal light from your environment.
