The Seal by Powerplus is a solar powered weather station that tracks the changes in the many factors that contribute to weather to give you an prediction of the weather to come, for a 12-24 hour time slot for your local area.

The Seal contains many different sensors which monitor different factors such as temperature, humidity, barometric air pressure, and trend of atmospheric pressure. It then uses this data to provide you with a forecast of the weather to come for a 12-24 hour slot for a radius of up to 30 miles. The LCD screen of the device displays the forecast in an easily understood picture representation. The screen also displays the date, time, and the current moon phase.

The Powerplus Seal gadget is powered through a solar panel located at the back of the device, this converts sunlight into electricity which is stored in the devices Ni-Mh battery for use. This allows the Seal to work even during the night and this battery can be replaced (preferably with a rechargeable battery) for times when there is a sustained lack of sunlight.

Sunartis Solar Powered Window Thermometer

This Solar Powered Window Thermometer can be easily stuck onto any glass surface but is designed to be placed onto windows with its suction cups. The thermometer is solar powered so there is no worry about batteries running out or replacing them. The device can be placed either inside or outside on the window pane.

The Solar Powered Window Thermometer has a built-in solar panel on the back of the device, so by placing it on a window that is exposed to sunlight during the day you ensure the device always has enough power. It has a large LCD digital display which gives the current temperature, and the daily maximum and minimum temperature from the last 24 hours. The maximum temperature is taken through the day time (between 8am and 8pm) and the minimum temperature is taken during the night time (between 8pm and 8am).

The Solar Powered Window Thermometer can be moved whenever necessary due to its transparent sucker pads. The device measures 10cm (4in) in diameter. The temperatures can be displayed in either degrees Celsius or degrees Fahrenheit and the thermometer has a display range of -20° C to 60° C (-4° F to 140° F).

The solar-powered thermometer is available for $25.10.

Solar Powered Outdoor Thermometer By Solite

The Solar Powered Outdoor Thermometer by Solite allows you to accurately check the temperature outside at any time of day. As it is mounted onto a stake it needs placing in soft ground, such as a lawn or planting border, but should also work in a large plant pot. And, as the name suggests, solar powered thermometers are powered by the sun, not from batteries.

Using solar power to provide the electricity needed, the thermometer outputs the temperature result on a digital LCD screen. It features a back light to light up the screen for reading the temperature at night, or in other low light conditions. This light is activated when the thermometer sensors detect it is dark enough to require this. The Solar Powered thermometer can be used as a marker along lawns and borders as it features two orange LED lights to help signal where it has been placed. Because it is solar powered there is no worry over wiring, the only consideration in placing the thermometer is to the level of sunlight in that area.

The Solar Powered Thermometer can accurately measure the temperature between -15° to 140° Fahrenheit. Unfortunately it does not output the temperature in centigrade at all and so it will only give the current temperature in Fahrenheit alone. The thermometer has been specially designed to ‘fast charge’. Its electronic circuits achieve this by making the most of low light levels such as those on a cloudy day to power the device. The solar panel on the thermometer is adjustable so it can be angled to make the most advantage of the sunlight in your garden.

Solar-Powered Digital Window Thermometer

The Solar-Powered Digital Window Thermometer is a digital thermometer that simply sticks to the outside of your window, giving you the current outdoor temperature. No need to venture outside to see how cold it is, as you just need to open the curtains to read it! The window thermometer uses a solar panel to charge itself during the day, saving the need for conventional batteries.

In additon to the current temperature, the thermometer also displays the minimum and maximum temperatures of the day, i.e. how cold and how warm it’s been that day (so far). The thermometer is made from durable recycled plastic, so it’s not going to fall apart from being in bright sunlight either. When you need or want to clean the thermometer, it easily detaches from the window. You might want to keep your window clean too, so that the suction cups can work properly!

The window thermometer measures 4.5 inches x 1 inch x 3.8 inches (114mm x 25mm x 97mm) and weighs 3.7 ounces (about 100g). The thermometer is available for $25.

Oregon Scientific RMR802 Solar-Powered Thermometer

The Oregon Scientific RMR802 Solar-Powered Thermometer is an ultra-thin and attractive temperature station that displays both indoor and outdoor temperature, in addition to maintaining accurate time via the radio-controlled clock display. The thermometer also uses a solar panel to extend the life of the internal battery.

The thermometer can display temperatures in degrees Celsius or Fahrenheit, as well as store the maximum and minimum temperatures for that day. When it get’s cold, the thermometer will light up an LED Ice Alert on the display if the external temperature sensor detects that it has reached freezing temperatures outside.

The clock and calendar on the Oregon Scientific RMR802 is automatically set to the right time and date thanks to receiving a DCF or MSF radio signal from an atomic clock based in the UK or Germany.

The thermometer is powered by 2xAAA batteries, although there is no indication if these batteries are rechargeable or not. The remote temperature sensor designed to go outdoors is powered by a single AA battery.

The main unit measures 75mm x 33mm x 120mm in size, whereas the temperature sensor measures just 96mm x 50mm x 22mm. Prices start at around £28 in the UK. The Oregon Scientific RMR802 thermometer does not appear to be available in the US however.
