Solar Powered Portable iPod and iPhone Speakers

Rather than move your potentially cumbersome audio system outside to enjoy some music, you could just use your iPod, iPhone or any other MP3 player hooked up to some speakers. The Solar Powered Portable Speaker gadget is perfect for enjoying your music out in the sun. Based on just 6 hours to fully charge the speakers, you’ll get up to 8 hours of music enjoyment from them.

All you need to do is hook up your MP3 player to the 3.5mm audio jack, and off you go. The unit measures just 195mm x 112mm x 50mm and weighs just under 300g. There’s also an adaptor for the Sony Ericsson Fast Port, the Nokia 2.5mm stereo socket, and the Samsung 20pin G600 socket, meaning you can also use your mobile phone with these speakers.

The manufacturer believes you’ll save an average £40 in batteries when using similar non-solar portable speakers, based on 112 hours of use using 4xAA batteries. The speakers are available for £40 plus delivery.
